Mirza Fakhrul went to Bangkok

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has gone to Bangkok, Thailand for urgent eye treatment. His wife Rahat Ara Begum is with him.

Mirza Fakhrul left for Bangkok on a Thai Airways flight from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 2:45 am on Monday.

BNP Media Cell member Shairul Kabir Khan told BSS this information.

Shairul Kabir said, “When sir had problems with his eyes on Monday, he immediately went to the United Hospital in Gulshan to see the doctors.” After the tests there, the doctors said that an urgent surgery on the retina of Sir’s eyes is necessary.’

He said, ‘On the advice of the doctors, an appointment was made by quickly contacting the Rutnin Eye Hospital in Bangkok to get eye treatment.’

BNP Secretary General’s personal assistant Yunus Ali said that the Secretary General and his family have sought prayers from the countrymen and party leaders and workers.

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and his wife last went to Singapore for a health check-up on April 6.

 

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir (born 26 January 1948) is a Bangladeshi politician.[1] He has been the secretary general of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) since 2016.[2] He was a member of the parliament for Thakurgaon-1 constituency from 2001 to 2006. In that term, he was also appointed the Minister of State in charge of the Ministry of Agriculture and later Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism.[3]
